The California Lion Country Safari operated from 1970 to 1984 off I-405 at Irvine Center Drive, famous for Frasier the "sensuous lion" and for Bubbles the hippo’s 1978 escape.
A 1974 photo shows a pair of Mold-A-Rama machines on site vending the large lion and large elephant; the grizzly bear also ran here. The site today is part of the Irvine Spectrum area.
